France talisman Kylian Mbappe fires back at Everton's Amadou Onana after 'kick his shins' jibe ahead of Belgium Euro 2024 showdown

Kylian Mbappe has fired back at Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana's 'kick his shin' jibe ahead of France's Euro 2024 last-16 clash.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Earlier this week, Belgium posted a video on social media of Onana along with Belgian comedian Pablo Andres. In the video, the Everton midfielder was spotted insinuating that he would 'tackle Mbappe in the shin' during Belgium's clash with France. Belgium quickly deleted the video and issued an apology, however, the Real Madrid star has now fired back at Onana.

WHAT MBAPPE SAID

When asked by the media if he would swap shirts with Onana, Mbappe said: "Who?”

The Belgian reporter clarified again: "Amadou Onana, our midfielder."

Mbappe then realised what the question was regarding and said: "Oh okay, I heard something about it. You know, a lot of people talk about me - I have no problem with that. If Onana wants my shirt after the match, he can have it."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

France and Belgium haven't shown the levels that were expected of them in the group stages of the Euros in Germany. However, they will both hope to change that when they face off against each other in the last-16 clash. Mbappe personally will be hoping to return to form after an average display against Poland in the final group game.

WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE?

The Frenchman will have the opportunity to take on Onana later tonight when Les Bleus take on Belgium at the Merkur-Spiel Arena in Dusseldorf.
